Kikis animation-finished

WAHAY! ok, due to my bad time management on this one the crow went out the window, but the rest of it was done, took around 50/60hours to do, but full flowers arrows...the works:D Happy with how it looks on the finished video, unfortunatly the sound doesnt sinc with the video the way it should, but think the animations good. Just gutted didnt have the time for the crow animation since i think that would of been something different and challenging to do:)

Filming crew stuffs

In the last term my acting ‘skills’ have been put well to use. Midwife in Neils movie, Lead actress/dancer and supporting role in kikis, general background person in badgers movies, and Stacie Mathews, damn good reporter who gets shot in Daves. Its interesting to see how each persons work looks and feels. Neil badger and kiki tend to work together on everything, they have a very good team working. One that I feel I have aided in a bit this year. Finally understand what the different roles are within a production company, and the general filming proccess.
Iv been a bit of a runner for them recently as well, but its all part of the fun. But whats really got me is watching their work post editing. They each have such a different style to their work. Badgers is probably the one that most stands out to me. The wide screen may be the initial thing that makes it stands out to me, but the general lighting and tone has impressed me. I cant wait to see it finished, really excited about seeing peoples work finished and looking cinema worthy.
Neils work is kinda new to me, so I don’t know what his style is really, but watching his editing process is interesting, he really works hard at getting it perfect which I feel is gonna get him to go far.
Kikis work I think is the most ‘arty’ of the bunch tho. Her ideas/stories and style of filming does give her work a arthouse feel. But she really has shown her producing skills. The ability to get badger and neil to work on a Monday morning post lost, is enough to win her an oscar.
The film industry is something that I wud be interested in, but I think the furthest id be able to go is a runner, found that im damn good at getting coffee and coke☺

Ian Fitzsimmons

This week its been a careers week for the second years, but a couple of the guest speakers have been really useful. Their were a couple of people from games companies that really helped me understand the busness more, and has given me a bit of insight into my potential future. But the one that really helped was Ian Fitzsimmons. Hes from Tequilla London, who set the Army brief for D&ad. He used to be a student here and has worked his way up to a really good position in the advertising business. Afterwards I asked if he could look over my work, since I may not hear nething back from d&ad, and he gave me some really good feedback. He came up with an idea that has furthered the project more for my own portfolio, but what was hopefully more helpful is he gave me a potential boost for work/placement. Emailed him and hoping to hear something back. Advertising is an area I have thought of working in before, and would be kinda kewl to see how it all works.

Kikis animation returns.

Ok. This is taking ages. I can do roughly 5 frames per minute, but to do 3/8s of the flowers has take like 12 hours so far….gonna be a very long week, and Im thinking that some of the crow may have to be cut. Not only for times sake but for the look of the movie, bit worried how weird itll look. Tho iv found this movie as a sort of inspiration for the crow movement.

Game-IT F*^&ING NEARLY WORKS

Yes, that is the name of the current fla of my game☺. The ball is realising, ‘WOW water I better become a boat or il turn into mush’ and it will happily sail about on the water. The only problem is that wen going over the jeti, theres a behaviour happening that means its constantly switching between ball and boat.
The behaviour says if youre on tile 190(the jeti) and youre a ball, become a boat, else be a ball. Originally there were 4 tiles that made the jeti, so by making it one tile the glitch was almost completely irradicated, as long as you hold down the button its ok. If I didn’t have a fair few other projects to finish id stay on to fix this glitch, but since this game is intended for ds and a stylus, the likelyness of staying on the jeti is slim to non.
All I neeed to do now is import all the graphics. For some reason the array is acting a little weird. I wanted it so there was a forest around the land so that there wasn’t just a black space where you cant go, an actual environment instead. But when ever I change the first tile of each array it stops the ball turning into a boat. I see no reason for this, but mneh. I can work with it. Il put a screen shot up when im done☺
